A More Perfect Union - Falling Skies Season 2 Episode 10 FINALE!

*This review contains spoilers.*

Hello everyone! You, me, TNT's Falling Skies!
  • Oh, look, Ben is in the previously on...hopefully we see him again before the season is out...looking forward to the development of this coup.
  • Oh, I love Pope...
  • Uh-oh...red sirens are never good! Holy crap! Look at them all! Oh, yes! Woooo, rebels! Wooo! Ben! This is a nice scene...all standing together in solidarity like that...very, very nice.
  • This conversation is very fascinating. I hope they go with it...I really, really didn't liked the way Bressler said "Agreed," it was as if he meant the idea of the rebel Skitters.
  • Oh, Weaver and Tom are doing pretty well against this Bressler asshole.
  • Damn you, Bressler! I need to see who plays this guy, he's quite good.
  • Ah, yes, a Hal and Ben moment! I've been waiting for this for a while...aw, Hal can be so sweet.Oh, Ben, come on...be with your family! This is a really poignant moment that also manages to remain fairly light in tone...I secretly really love brotherly moments...maybe because I'm an only child and also a girl, so I can never really have one, ever...perhaps that's why I love Supernatural so much.
  • Ah, Anne and Lourdes...Anne just threw up! In TV land, that is so code for pregnancy...ah, yes! Wooo! Oh, God, Anne, saying you're not informing Tom until after the mission is a freaking death sentence!
  • Oh, no...this must have been Bressler's doing! Oh, you smug bastard!
  • Oh, come on, oh, yes! Woooooo! I love you Captain Weaver! Way to be a badasss! I really don't trust Bressler.
  • Oh, yes, father/daughter moment! Side note: Laci J. Malley (Jean) is freaking beautiful. Her skin is so beautifully pale and porcelain, literally stunning. Really great acting there...so sweet.
  • Aw, Tector! Ah, yes, Tector! Throw off the bonds of oppression and come back to the Berserkers!
  • I really liked this whole scene...people leaving, deciding who is coming, who isn't and why and how they react to it...I think that shows a lot about everyone's character.
  • Oh, man, oh, man...they're in! Really impressive sets here...alien, but organic.
  • Oh, whoa, Dai is such a badass! Oh, no! Hal! Maggie! Anne! Oh, shit! Oh, God, it's freaking Karen! Again!
  • Oh, damn that Karen bitch! I should have seen torture coming...oh, she actually kissed him! Oh, is she going for Anne? Oh, no, not Weaver! Oh, God, she is totally going for Anne....oh, she knows she's pregnant! Oh, wow, what a way to find out you're going to be a father for poor Tom..,Oh, no, don't talk!
  • Yes, rebel Skitters! Oh, yes, woooooooooo! Beat that bastard Tom! Great freaking sequence! Just epic!
  • Oh, no! Is that Red Eye? No, don't you die on me! Nooooooooooooooooooo!
  • Uh-oh, I hope Hal is okay...I really like him.
  • Oh, please, you freaking Charleston people, now you love the 2nd Mass...not buying it...so not buying it.
  • Oh, yes, Ben is so sweet with Matt!
  • ...uh-oh, what did Karen do to Hal?
  • Oh, I have been waiting for the Anne/Tom pregnancy conversation...this is sweet, and I absolutely adore the chemistry between Noah Wyle and Moon Bloodgood...who still has the world's most badass name and beautiful hair.
  • This is pretty ominous music here as Hal gets up...Oh, ew, oh, nasty...what does this mean? This really feels like some sort of mind control.
  • No, Tom, Manchester asked you twice...he's poisoning you! Don't drink it! Don't! Oh, no, he's offering him a position, not trying to kill him...haha, I guess I can't read people very well, haha.
  • I like the idea of the 2nd Mass hitting the road again...
  • This is a good bonding moment between Weaver and Tom...
  • All was going so well...and now the building is breaking...not an earthquake...a storm of some kind? Noise torture from the aliens? Whoa, whoa, whoa....what in the hell is that thing? Spaceship? ...It's a fairly human shaped alien...with a bat wing collar...and very expressive eyes.
  • Theory: the thing that pointed towards the sky that the 2nd Mass destroyed was a weapon of some kind to be used by the fishheads/Skitters against the humanoid/batwinged aliens that just arrived, because somehow those two alien races are at war...any takers? If you have theories, please share in the comments below.
Okay, wow, what an episode. I think it really typified what I love about TNT's Falling Skies all in one episode. First, you've got the total badass alien fighting stuff what with Tom versus the fishhead and you've got the more political civilian versus military control fighting between the humans. Plus, you get one hell of a cliffhanger with this whole new species of alien that we know nothing about...with the humans? Against? No idea! In addition, we see an example of the show's ability to keep you guessing...the rebel Skitters being shot outside of Charleston came out of left field and I thought we wouldn't see them again, ever...but there they were to save the day. And, of course, my personal favorite, the human drama and superb acting...loved the Tom Mason and his boys family stuff, as always, and I think Anne's pregnancy adds another wonderful layer to their familial dynamic. Plus, of course, Maggie's reaction to the Hal/Karen kiss and subsequent unconsciousness of the former.

This episode was a fitting finale: fast-paced, emotional and both satisfying and tantalizing; I highly recommend you catch it if you haven't watched it already.

All in all, I think it's a lovely show and one I would recommend you check it out and start from the beginning if you don't watch.

Thanks for reading!

The Price of Greatness - Falling Skies Season 2 Episode 9

*This review contains spoilers.*

You, me, TNT's Falling Skies, as I watch it.

  • Predictions: I expect something to be wrong in Charleston, and really, really hope for a resolution between Hal and Maggie of some kind. Also, more Anne and Tom. And maybe some Pope on the side, because no matter how much I detest his character at times, there are others I absolutely adore him.
  • Here we go! Oh, wow, look at all those people! This is a nice scene!
  • Oh, whoa, JEAN! What a turn of events! I like this development a lot.
  • Arthur Manchester, owner of a cool shirt, apparent mentor of Tom, and hopefully another badass historian.
  • And Tector is not Tector's real name apparently...I love revelations like that. Good job Falling Skies.
  • Ah-ha! This General guy is bad news! I knew there had to be a catch! Hmmm...he seems to resent Manchester, who I feel like I side with.
  • Uh-oh...this is bad...this is so bad...separate the 2nd Mass?! No! Oh, dear...they're splitting you up and taking your guns so you can't rebel against them when they do something evil, don't you see? Okay, maybe that's just my wild prediction, but I would so try not to go along with this.
  • And a cute Anne/Tom domestic scene! YES! :)
  • I love this Arthur Manchester guy...that would be me, "Let's be the George Washington of a new world!" and being all like "a new democracy" and such. Though, I'm really not a fan of the way he's treating Tom right now.
  • Aw, a Jean and Weaver moment! Yes, where is Diego, I liked him...Oh, man...poor Diego! Whoa, and even more political dissension. Oh, this is getting so good! Political intrigue! YES!!!!! I LOVE this show! Cute daddy/daughter moment for those two.
  • Whoa, this heart specialist is an asshole...and Dr. Anne Glass, in addition to being a haver of beautiful hair, you are also a total badass.
  • Wow, I feel like Jean just let on to a serious something going on with these Charleston people. So, dissension equals punishment, but is there an overarching plot? Why would the 2nd Mass get special treatment? Because of the vote? I don't know, I don't know! This is such a good show!
  • Whoa, Tector, you traitor! Pope, you tell that bastard!
  • Maggie, what are you doing? Ooooh, intriguing!
  • I agree with Matt, I wish they had never come to Charleston!
  • Whoa, whoa, whoa, the Berserkers are stealing and then Maggie and oh my freaking God Tector shot Lyle! What the hell is the matter with you, Tector?! You bastard!
  • Oh, wow, I'm starting to think I misjudged Manchester...
  • Oh, come on Maggie, Hal said he was sorry! I ship Hal/Maggie the most for this fandom, I believe.
  • Ah, yes, the infamous meeting! Oh, Jean, you are getting yourself in trouble! Be careful! Oh, shit, Tom, what are you doing! You are supposed to be supporting Manchester, you're going to get yourself in trouble! Oh, man, be careful!
  • Oh, come on, Manchester, I seriously misjudged you...
  • ....And Pope and Manchester are having dinner? Odd. Oh, man, Pope don't squeal! ...Oh, wow, that was one kickass refusal, done so hilariously that I can't help but love him.
  • Oh, wow, Hal, what a rebel you are! Oh, my goodness, this is the sweetest speech from Hal ever....come on, Maggie! Yes!!! :) :) I love this show!
  • Oh, this is so good! It's golden....oh, no...with Tector, too, goddammit! State of emergency? Oh, Manchester, you bastard! General, I can't believe you! Ah, yes, Tector! Welcome back!
  • Oh, this is terrifying...Manchester is such a psycho dictator!
  • Whoa, whoa...martial law? I'm not sure a coup was the proper solution...whoa, whoa, whoa...thank you Pope for the commentary.
Okay, wow, can I just say this was a very packed episode. We went from all is well in Charleston, to a sneaking suspicion of something simply wrong beneath the surface, to their "democratic" leader being a tyrant  and finally to a military coup! What an episode! It was indescribably awesome and I highly suggest you check it out!

Thanks for reading!

Death March - Falling Skies Season 2 Episode 8

*This review contains spoilers.*

Once again, we return to TNT's show Falling Skies. I'm not as excited as I was last time I wrote a review, as two weeks is a very long time and I hate when shows do that...this is a great show though, so here we go!

  • I don't even remember where we left everyone, so I make no predictions...hope for more Pope, and also Hal/Maggie (not my OTP, but still an important ship to me).
  • Hmm...this "previously on" gives me hope for Hal/Maggie, and a little inkling of worry about Pope and what he may do.
  • Oh, wow, what an emotional impact it must be to receive a will from your nine year old.
  • I don't think I've commented on their title thing...it's nothing special, but I can appreciate a show that keeps it short and gets to the plot.
  • Tector appears to be getting much more screen time than in previous episodes...I'd like to see his character get a backstory.
  • Yes! Hal and Maggie...joined by Pope. I think I want him around so much because he's so damn annoying it's funny. Aw, what a sweet Maggie and Hal moment!
  • Ah, yes, I think we're getting something on Tector! A ex-military guy apparently...why would that be? He killed someone accidentally and can't come to terms with it? Let a friend die? Ah, yes, a mystery! Thank you, Falling Skies.
  • Oh, come on, Weaver, we all know you're a big softie about kids. YES! Haha, new character! Wooo! Exciting!
  • More Maggie/Hal scenes! You need to be watching this show! Aw, that was so sweet!
  • Pope has kids?! I appreciate Hal's commentary on that immensely.
  • Aw, what a cute moment! I really love that they have Matt on this show to lighten the mood a bit....And then Jenny (mystery girl) looks a little freaky.
  • I really like the idea of a conversation between Pope and Maggie about Hal. I'm very excited...Whoa, whoa, the what Maggie is? Alien? Convict? Prostitute?
  • Wait, wait Pope and Maggie were a thing? What? What past? Oh, man, this better be revealed before the episode is out. Pope said if Maggie really cared, she'd tell Hal...so something bad could happen to Hal if she didn't tell him...could she have an STD or other contagious disease maybe?
  • Okay, okay we're getting more Tector...why would he hide that? He doesn't want to go with them? What is up with him? So many new mysteries this episode! This is super cool!
  • Uh-oh, this little Matt and Jenny becoming friends thing couldn't last.
  • Oh, I think we're going to get the speech from Maggie! Come on, what is it? No, she's being all tight-lipped...oh, I think there is going to be a fight. No, no, no we're getting the story! YES! Wow, was I off base! Drugs, robbery, prison and a baby! Wow, I never would have gotten that! I really don't see that Hal needed to know that...I mean, it would have been nice to know, but it doesn't really affect him or his relationship with Maggie.
  • I love the "Tom Mason and one of his sons" domestic moments. They are very well acted by Noah Wyle in my opinion.
  •  Oh, this is so awkward...Hal/Maggie must endure! Oh, no! What the hell?! What is that light?
  • And even more Tector backstory! Aw, poor guy!
  • This is a nice moment between Tector and Weaver!
  • Oh, my God! Yes! Triumph! They made it! Wait, that's an awful burned out car...Holy shit! What could have done that to the road? Oh, God, is that Charleston? That...that...it's...how?
  • Oh, man, what a moment for Tom!
  • And what a moment between Tector and Weaver!
  • Jesus Christ! In what circumstance is it okay to gather a crowd around you by firing into the air? None, okay? None!
  • This is a nice inspirational speech from Weaver.
  • Whoa, whoa! People! And strawberries! Oh, my God, CHARLESTON IS REAL!
  • Yes! Hal and Tom and Matt hug! How great! ...And Matt goes and brings up Ben!
  • Oh, what an ending! That was freaking beautiful! I loved that! What a high note!
Oh, wow! Guys, this was a really intense episode! I was very pleased with the emotional deepening of Hal and Maggie, the interactions between the Mason boys, the further exploration of Tector's character and the fact that the 2nd Mass has finally arrived in Charleston! Woooooo!

In short, this was a wonderful episode and I highly suggest you watch the show if you don't already!

Predictions (new segment):
  • I hate to be Debbie Downer here, but I'm a bit worried about what everyone is going to find in Charleston...could Weaver's speech about expecting paradise on a silver platter be some kind of ironic foreshadowing of a disappointing Charleston? I mean, an alien invasion would leave the world open for any sort of individual to scrape order together from the chaos....thoughts, anyone?
  • Hal and Maggie survive. They've just go to...thought not my OTP, I really need them to be together!
  • Tector becomes a very integral figure in Charleston...I feel like we wouldn't have just gotten such a large chunk of information about him if he didn't have some extremely important role to play somehow.
That's it for me!

Thank you so much for reading!

Molon Labe - Falling Skies Season 2 Episode 7

*This review contains spoilers.*

As I do every week, here is a review of TNT's Falling Skies as I watched the episode!

  • I love this show so much! I hope Karen's betrayal pushes Hal back towards Maggie! Oh, poor Ben! No matter how much of a dumbass he was for trusting Karen, I still feel bad for the poor kid. This is really great acting on his part.
  • Ah, yes! Second Mass to the rescue! Great action sequence here, and I usually hate those.
  • Poor Matt, does anyone think about him left alone back at camp while his father and brothers are away?
  • YES! Maggie is okay! Wooooooooo! I love her so much, she's becoming one of my favorite characters.
  • Oh, Jameel and Lourdes! Woooo! I love this show, TNT you are amazing!
  • Aw, Weaver was so cute with Matt just there. Not that I'm in favor of giving children weapons, even in a post-apocalyptic setting.
  • I am amazed how this show manages to still keep me on tenterhooks! Oh, no! Anne, Lourdes and Matt!
  • Oh, poor Tom, to hear this about Ben from Weaver!
  • That was a nice scene with Hal, Karen and Tom.
  •  Oh,what a sweet Hal and Ben moment! Oh, wow, what a moment between Tom and Ben! That was beautiful! So angst-filled and angry.
  • HOLY SHIT! What happened to Jameel?! What is in that stairwell? It sounds like maybe Skitters?
  • Ah, yes, Maggie and Hal alone time! What a direct question, Maggie! Ah, yes!!!!!! Hal and Maggie kiss! Wooooooooooo! This is so amazing! Guys, go watch the episode! They are the best couple on this show! Whoa! Watch. This. Now!
  • Whoa! Amazing special effects on the creepy-crawlies in the access tunnels! I'm glad they decided to introduce a new form of alien, it keeps things extra-lively!
  • Oh, don't say "I love you," Jameel! You're going to die! Oh, sweet Jesus! They were in him! Ew! Oh, God! Oh, no! Anne and Lourdes and Matt better make it! Nooo! Jameel!
  • Ah, yes! POPE! Wooooo! I wonder what prompted his sudden desire to follow Tom's orders? Very interesting development here!
  • Oh, Matt, you're a brave kid!
  • Oh, no! Don't kill Boone (Boon?)! That was awful!
  • Oh, cool flamethrower! Thank God Anne and Lourdes are okay! Poor Jameel!
  • Wow! That was a ballsy move, Tom! Now the aliens have no reason not to blow them up!
  • Oh, Hal, show up that bitch please! I cannot wait for her to see her dying Overlord. YES! Yes! Thank God! That was beautiful.
  • Oh, Matt is so cute!
  • Wow, this is looking like it's actually working! Yay!
  • And we appear to be having a Tom and Anne moment! YES! This is so heartwarming!
  • Ouch. Lourdes is taking it hard. Great acting though.
  • Oh, Ben, what the hell are you doing?! Thank God you're there Tom! Oh, Tom don't let your son leave like this! Oh, God, I'm bawling my eyes out right now. No, Ben don't leave! Ben! No! NO! Ben, you can't! Noooo!
One of the most emotional episodes ever! It was amazing for all the action, the new concepts, the kickass moments, the tragedy...I literally cried aloud at the end! Wonderful, wonderful episode, please please go watch it, it was amazing!

Thank you for reading!

Homecoming - Falling Skies Season 2 Episode 6

*This review contains spoilers.*

My thoughts on TNT's Falling Skies as I watch it!

  • I am really looking forward to more Hal/Maggie this episode...*crosses fingers*
  • Oh! Well, starting off with Anne and Tom is just as good. Their relationship is just precious. Moon Bloodgood and Noah Wyle are absolutely amazing.
  • Oh, God, Weaver what are you saying? Holy shit! This is impressive convulsing on Weaver's actor's part...very interesting development, TNT, you do know drama.
  • Yay, Hal and Maggie! Oh, Maggie, no! You and Hal are destined for each other! Nooooo!
  • Oh, God, KAREN! Well, that's one way to clear the obstacles for Mag - Holy shit! Damn, I've jumped so many times during this episode and I'm barely 10 minutes. Whoa, whoa, whoa! You need to watch this show!
  • ...And now we have more subtle, long-term problems...oh, this episode is/is going to be the best so far, I just know it!
  • Ben needs to back off...I think we can trust Karen, look how sincere she is! Oh, this is an awkward love triangle.
  • Ben, you bastard! And Maggie too! Karen needs to be okay!
  • Trouble in paradise...Oh, they fight well..."Rebecca, stop!"? Yikes, Tom, you're in trouble.
  • Ben, what the fuck is the matter with you?! Leave Karen alone! Uh-oh, that was a suspicious sip from that cup thing...can I really be that poor of a judge of character?
  • That sounds absolutely crazy...props to whoever does their medical research.
  • Wait, is that Anth - POPE! IT'S POPE! POPE IS BACK! Woooooooooooooooo! In case you missed my review of the previous episode, I like him more than I should. I hate him, too, but I missed him.
  • Whoa, whoa, whoa! Karen/Ben? What the hell was that? I really want to trust Karen here, but what if this is a ploy to drive a rift between Hal and Ben...God, I LOVE TNT!!!!! Watch this episode immediately!
  • Oh no! Weaver had better live! This is such a good scene!
  • Maggie...what the heck are you doing? Oh, dear God. Maggie! Oh, no, Karen! Oh, shit, Maggie!!! Oh, no, don't die on me, Maggie!
  • Ben, no! What are you doing?! He better be alright! Oh, what the heck is going on? No, no, no!
  • Aw, sweet Anne and Tom moment!
  • Yes! Pope! Wooo!
  • ....And poor Tom gets hit with a ton of bricks when the shit hits the fan! Noah Wyle is such a great actor!
Okay, wow! In conclusion, TNT is the best television network ever, I am the world's worst judge of character ever, Maggie better be alright and I am so, so, so ridiculously happy that Pope is back!

Go watch the episode right now, it is beyond amazing!

Thanks for reading!

Love and Other Acts of Courage - Falling Skies Season 2 Episode 5

*This review contains spoilers.*

Once again, my thoughts on tonight's episode of TNT's absolutely amazing show Falling Skies.

  • No predictions...hope for more romance! :)
  • What is this? Skitter version of a sun salutation? Yoga-practicing aliens, the death of us all. I'm sorry, that was irreverent. To yoga masters, anyway.
  • I am opposed to the Ben-is-a-Skitter-in-progress bit - the poor kid has been through enough.
  • *Gasp* Hal/Maggie! Maggie has beautiful hair, just saying...Aw, this is cute! I love this! I root for Maggie/Hal! Yay, TNT you are amazing!
  • Uh-oh...then again, we do need a good action sequence now and again.
  • What does it say about me that I think Matt is so cute when he's trying to be all tough?
  • ...Wait, are those dead Mechs? What is going on? Are these new people? I want more new people, that was super fun last episode.
  • Whoa! WHOA! I'm super glad to see Rick...this will make for an interesting plot turn.
  • Uh-oh...that does not look good. I feel like I learn so much about medical stuff from disaster shows like this.
  • I really admire Tom's dedication to his sons. The family dynamic they have going on is one of my favorite parts of this show.
  • I wouldn't trust Rick...he's betrayed them before...he'll do it again, in my opinion, of course...Oh, this is going to end badly.
  • Oh, I feel bad for Ben here for some reason. He just looks so...lost.
  • Hal and Maggie in a tiny little car together like this? Oh, yes! This has to got to be one of my favorite scenes so far!
  • Because, you know, nothing says maintaining calm like bringing a Skitter through the middle of camp.
  • Oh, Ben...this is so sad...for both Tom and Ben...very well-acted.
  • Ah, yes, back to the car! This is too perfect! This is so one of my favorite shows ever. "Always." Oh, that was precious!
  • Oh, no! A death squad? Really?! You couldn't have mentioned that earlier?
  • This is somehow still romantic in a little bit of an offbeat way. Kiss! Kiss! Kiss! YES!!!!!! Wooooo! Oh, this is wonderful! Wait, Maggie, come back!
  • Maggie, don't be such a bitch!
  • Oh, Hal, you're going to rescue her anyway! I love you so much Hal!
  • Whoa! Rick! Oh, shit!
  • Oh, Maggie, too! This is too scary! Poor everybody!
  • Okay, that was a really cute Ben and Tom moment.
  • I hope Maggie feels bad about rejecting Hal now! Please, please be kind to Hal, Maggie! Okay, that was pretty good I suppose. Oh, the hand! Yes! Too cute! Aw! Squee!
  • That was a very sweet Tom and Weaver moment.
  • That was very saucy Tom/Anne. ;)
  • Oh, Ben, what is this...oh, okay...well, that's not too worrisome.
The romance between Hal and Maggie this episode was to die for. There was minimal Anne/Tom, but there was more romance this episode than any other. I loved it, and I legitimately think it was the best episode of Falling Skies we have seen so far...it is also the first episode in which I have finished my review before midnight rolled around! Woooo! I'm so excited! :)

This was an absolutely magnificent episode and I encourage you to watch it if you didn't!

Thank you so much for reading!

EDIT: At 11:57 PM - within the day - am I the only one missing Pope? I don't know why, I just liked him a lot as a character; he was funny and so totally a little bit sexy. Agree/disagree? Feel free to comment. 11:58 PM and done! Wooo!

Young Bloods - Falling Skies Season 2 Episode 4

*This review contains spoilers.*

Once again, my review of TNT's Falling Skies. If I seem less excited, it's because I recently bought all the seasons of the BBC's Merlin on DVD this past weekend, and I'm a bit obsessed with that. Nevertheless, here we go!

  • I have no predictions, except to say I hope we keep up with Pope and Anthony, and I want the tensions between Ben, Hal and Tom to come to a head.
  • If anything happens to Matt, I'm going to be so upset. Who let him out on his own anyway? Oh, God, I sense these two becoming a real problem in the end.
  • Those assholes! How dare they!
  • I absolutely love that Robert E. Lee's quote "It is well that war is so terrible..." is on the wall by where they're camped out. That is so fitting. Props to TNT for that.
  • ...Oh, my God, the scene that ensues when Tom brings Anne the chocolate cake thing is the most darling, precious, adorable, perfect, magnificent scene in the entire world. You need to watch this! Aw! Squee! Squee!
  • Wow, a whole new band of people this is an interesting development. Yeah, Hal, you get those bikes back! I don't know if he should trust these people...they look suspicious.
  • Wow, Tom, way to be a dick.
  • Oh, my God! Aw! Captain Weaver and Jeanie is the most adorable thing ever! Aw! Yes, I'm so glad you brought them back, Hal!
  • Okay, Diego is okay, since he saw the whole Maggie/Hal thing a mile away.
  • Diego and Jeanie? I'm down with that. Oh, dear, are they setting up a Diego/Lourdes/Jameel love triangle?
  • Oh, Hal is so cute! He is absolutely my crush from this show!
  • Uh-oh, what happened? Nothing bad better happen, we just had all those cute couple-y moments for everybody, and now this? Not good!
  • Whoa, whoa, Diego and Captain Weaver need to back down. Oh, Matt...I don't even know whether or not I want you to go. I am liking his arc this episode.
  • I kind of like this Tector guy. I don't know where he came from (apart from Pope's gang, I mean), but he seems like a decent guy.
  • Oh, dear God! No! NO! This is not happening! Oh, ew, this is horrible. Not Jeanie and not Matt, please! Oh, thank God!
  • Oh, Ben, what are you doing! Dumbass move! Weaver better be okay...oh, this is so tense, I can't handle this!
  • Aw, this is sweet, but wait, Diego/Jeanie was a perfect couple...oh, no. :-(
  • Come on, Ben...he's your brother.
  • Lourdes/Jameel is moving along nicely.
  • Jeanie, what are you doing?! Are you running away with Diego? I loved Diego/Jeanie, but don't leave Weaver like this. Oh, Jeanie, what are you doing! This is probably the first time I ever advocated NOT sneaking away with your lover...
  • Aw, Matt and Tom are just so adorable.
  • This last scene with the guitar and all these different people is so perfect, and the pan up to the sky, that is so classy! I loved that!
Okay, that was a really great episode. Lourdes/Jameel,  Anne/Tom and even Hal/Maggie are really becoming perfect, but Jeanie/Diego...I don't know what I think...she should have convinced them to stay, that would have been a happier ending for this episode.

Anyway, I love this show and this was an especially great episode, both from romance and action, so if you haven't seen it, I suggest you do, and if you don't watch Falling Skies then you should definitely start!

Thanks for reading!

Compass - Falling Skies Season 2 Episode 3

*This review contains spoilers.*

Once again, my thoughts on TNT's latest episode of Falling Skies as I watch it.

  • You know, this is one of the few shows I watched from the beginning as it actually aired instead of waiting to hear reviews from friends on whether or not I'd like it. I think my leap of faith paid off - in my line up of angst, vampires, teenagers and werewolves, this is definitely a standout during the summer for me.
  • I have no predictions this early in the season; my only hope is that something bad happens to Pope and we see more Lourdes/Jameel.
  • I don't know about you, but Ben is really starting to worry me. I mean, the pure enjoyment he takes from killing can't be healthy, can it?
  • I love Anne and Tom together, I just do.
  • I never liked Weaver, and I'm feeling a real resurgence of that feeling. I've got a real problem with people who think they are absolute authority and -
  • Whoa, whoa! Damn you, Pope! I hate him so much! I can't believe I used to ship Pope/Maggie! Don't you listen to him, Tom! Ah, I take back everything bad I ever said about Ben, I love, love, love him!
  • I also take back what I said about Weaver, he has the right idea. Tom is being way too magnanimous here. What are you doing?
  • Oh, no, if they put Ben under the Skitter's mind control...
  • Oh, this is just awkward. I don't like this at all.
  • I'm intrigued about Tom's first interaction with the Berserkers...this rivalry with Pope is fascinating.
  • I want Maggie's hair now...and her and Hal are cuter than they were last episode.
  • Oh, my God! What the hell is this? If that's Ben...new character!!!!!! Exciting! Continental Congress? I am so sold! I like this pilot a lot.
  • Oh, no, you better not be faking me out TNT! Oh, Jimmy...
  • I would really like to see a journey to Charleston plot, personally.
  • Thank you, Tom! Calling Pope out like that. Oh, my God...Tom, you better take Pope out...oh, my God, guys, this is not an episode to miss! Whoa!
  • Oh, I love that they are making the decision to stick with Tom and the 2nd Mass...damn, Anthony, no!
  • Wooooooooo! Anne/Tom is the most amazing thing ever! I love this show and TNT and you should all watch this show!
  • Aw, I'm tearing up!
  • Okay, I'm so crying over the compass scene right now. Like, actual tears, right now. Oh, somehow, I can't hate Ben anymore.
  • Yes, to Charleston! Wooo! 176! Good number! Oh, yes! I am loving this! I have a real affinity for scenes when convoys set off, I don't know why, I just do...this is beyond phenomenal.
  • Oh, no, Ben! Not after you just had such a moment! No, bad TNT! Don't you put that boy through another traumatic event!
Amazing episode, amazing show, I highly recommend it!

Worlds Apart & Shall We Gather at the River - Falling Skies Season 2 Episodes 1 & 2

*This review contains spoilers.*

Hi! For those of you that read my blog, I also absolutely love TNT's Falling Skies, so I thought I'd share my thoughts on that, too. If you don't, welcome, I review as I watch the show, so below are my thoughts as I watched the 2 hour premiere of Falling Skies Season 2...which is super late, but Sundays are a busy TV day for me.
  • I hope their "Previously On" bit is good, since I don't really remember where we left anybody except for Tom. It was pretty good, definitely jogging my memory.
  • I'm not going to lie, I don't really like pure action movies, so I'm not a fan of the opening bit being solid gunfire. The special effects are superb, as TNT's always are...and I love Pope, I just do...his witty one liners get me every time.
  • Ben, what are you doing? Good to know he's still a little off his rocker.
  • Oh, my God! It's Tom! Yes, I was so disappointed when they were like "3 months later" and I thought that Tom was just being phased out of the show or something. He's one of my favorite characters, mainly because he's a little nerdy, being a history professor and all, and I'm pretty nerdy...so I'd like to think I could survive an alien invasion, too.
  • I'm really hoping they continue the relationship between Anne and Tom, I liked that a lot. And it looks like they're going to! :)
  • Ah, yes, flashback to the alien spaceship. Yikes, is that a cattle prod? Finally, we see Karen! I liked her back when she was Hal's girlfriend....I think I liked her better then.
  • The alien mothership is a little ...I don't know...campy? It works, I suppose, it's just not what I expected.
  • I'm intrigued as to what position Hal has in the group...it seems like Weaver is treating him as some sort of second-in-command in the absence of his father. Maybe I'm just weird, but I still think of Weaver a little warily.
  • Total tangent right now: the actress playing Anne, Moon Bloodgood, has absolutely beautiful hair. I want that hair.
  • I like that their clinic is a bus...the Resistance camp is really nicely done, more so than the alien ship in my opinion.
  • Okay, this is what I love about the show: trapped in a space ship with crazy giant alien man and you're talking history. Good stuff.
  • Another tangent: Ben looks really attractive this season, like he grew up or something.
  • Are they setting up Hal and Maggie (I think that's her name)? I'm not sure if I like that. I guess he can have a thing for blondes, but she seems too tough girl compared to Karen. I don't know, I'd be open to it, I suppose.
  • How are they going to move the vehicles without them heating up? That seems impossible. Maybe I wouldn't survive the alien apocalypse after all.
  • Wow, I am loving the way Tom is bringing it to these aliens. Whoa! Badass!Tom seizes the cattle prod! That was amazing. Whoa, look at all the other people...aw!
  • ...And in what universe is it acceptable to give a child a weapon of that magnitude? Yikes, this Hal/Ben situation is becoming loaded...the relationship between siblings has always fascinated me, perhaps because I don't have any. Oh, that was low! I am so Team Hal in this.
  • Is he seriously burning money? Dude, that is not okay! I don't care if it is the end of the world!
  • Is it me or does that girl look scary? Maybe it's the dirt...wait, wait, if they go together, where is she now? Okay, I like the Captain now. I don't know why, but scenes like this in movies or TV, when they break open the good stuff because it's the end or they can't take it with him, always get me.
  • Is Weaver just leaving those four behind with the doctors? Oh, come on, at least black out the windows. I really wish Ben wasn't on this mission. Oh, this is scary. Wow, it actually worked. Unless Ben does something stupid...No, it looks like we're good!
  • Oh, I see, I totally thought she got it.
  • Ben, you dumbass! Come on! Really?
  • Aw, this is such a sweet scene! This gorgeous light and the looking into each other's eyes thing, oh, it's just beautiful.
  • Now I feel bad for being angry with Ben...Aw, it's a family reunion! Too cute!
Intermission!
  • Oh, my God, a wall of death right now is so not what I need after that sweet family reunion.
  • I love Pope so much; he's just hilarious.
  • I don't like the sound of the plan Jameel (Jamil?) has to fix the bridge fairly shoddily.
  • Oh, come on, Tom, that is not the kind of thing you put on your son. Uh-oh, this is looking bad. Poor little Matt, I liked that we're seeing more of a family dynamic from the Masons.
  • Oh, shit, this looks bad, I can't even watch all this nasty eye stuff...oh, ew.
  • Aw, how cute, a deer! :)
  • Okay, that was an impressive image.
  • Whoa, whoa, Pope, what the hell are you doing?! I changed my mind, I am so not a fan of Pope anymore. Not at all.
  • Oh, Ben...now I feel so bad for him.
  • Oh, is this a Lourdes and Jameel coupling?
  • Okay, that conversation between Maggie and Hal was the weirdest come on I have ever heard.
  • Yes! Lourdes/Jameel are my new favorites! Woooo!
  • No, don't you go for Lourdes you thingy! No! Okay, whew, nobody messes with my new favorite character!
  • Is it me, or does that look unstable? Oh, somebody is so getting dumped in the river, and I, for one, hope it's Pope. Then again, he's on a motorcycle, and that medical bus is a lot bigger and heavier and Tom is tied to it...for drama, I predict that that is what breaks the bridge.
  • Oh, no! Anne, what are you going to do? Can't they push the bus?  Oh, no! Oh, thank God! Anne is probably in my top five characters on this show, and I'd be heartbroken if anything happened to her.
  • Oh, I can't handle this. Run, Tom, run! Pope you bastard! You son of a bitch! What were you thinking? Oh, I cannot get over this. No, no, no!
  • Hal, you better punch him - thank you, Hal!
  • Oh, thank God!
  • Okay, that is creepy.
Wow, that was so good! And the trailer for the rest looks amazing, too.

If you don't watch this show, I highly recommend you pick it up! It's one of the best summer shows, in my opinion, anyway.
