The Power of Three - Doctor Who Season 7 Episode 4

*This review contains spoilers.*

I am so excited for this episode! Also for the special next weekend, that sounds cool. ...I'm that person sitting in her dorm alone on a Saturday night, watching Doctor Who and drinking tea. Yeah, I'm cool. Anyway, you don't care, here we go.

  • Oh, cool! Love the little action sequence at the beginning about life with the Doctor. Oh, must you keep reminding me of their imminent departure? I am trying to block that out of my mind! I like this narration thing...super excited to see the Doctor in their lives.
  • Invasion of the very small cubes...I like it. Haha, I love Rory's dad so much.
  • TEN YEARS?!?!?!?!?! How did I miss that?
  • Oh, this is hilarious. Rory in his pants...British pants, I mean, which makes the scene much more interesting.
  • Haha, the Doctor and Twitter.
  • Haha, patience is for wimps...oh, this scene of the Doctor being busy is utterly precious.
  • Oh, come on, why do you have to treat the Doctor like that? Real life? No! NO! You don't need real life! Agh! I loathe it when we switch companions!
  • Brian's log! Haha!
  • Oh, whoa, freaky blue eyed girl! Ah! Those people practically have beaks for mouths! Nine months of cubes!
  • Oh, yes, gorgeous old time costumes in the 1890s! Haha, Amy married Henry VIII! This is hilarious! I  like this writer a lot.
  • Aw, the Doctor just said I miss you in the most adorable way possible!
  • ...I must now find out what Yorkshire pudding is...this domestic scene is too cute!
  • Oh, oh! The cube is moving! The cube is moving! Holy shit, the cube is opening!
  • Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! The Doctor playing Wii tennis is freaking hilarious! Aaaah! More cube action!
  • Okay, who is this girl with the fluffy hair and the blue cube?
  • Wait, the Tower of London? Isn't that a prison?
  • That cube is playing the chicken dance. There are no words for this.
  • Ah, no, oh, no...I cannot handle this departure talk. Oh, my God, the Doctor talking about what to see is making me cry over here, this is so touching, "before they flare and fade forever," oh, this is just so emotional. Oh, he's known? Sealed onto his hearts? Oh, this is too much! Too tragic! Oh, I am weeping so profusely over here.
  • Oh, no, be careful Brian! Uh-oh...holy shit, the cube ship!
  • Ah, be careful Doctor! It's...It's...It's...empty?
  • Oh, damn, they cause cardiac arrests...scary, scary stuff. Of course, the hospital where Rory works, where else?
  • Oh, damn, be careful Rory!
  • One third of the population? Holy shit!
  • Oh, finally someone takes notice of strange, fluffy haired girl.
  • Oh, Amy, a defibrillator, really?
  • Okay, the Doctor's celebratory dance with his shirt open was kind of sexy, not going to lie.
  • Okay, whoa, whoa, whoa, what is with this freaky holographic guy? Okay, the Shakri (spelling?), with seven portals in seven minutes...
  • Haha, "Who you calling a contagion?" That was epic!
  • Ah, yes, I love it when the Doctor talks about humanity...that is good stuff.
  • Using the cubes to turn the hearts on? This is a rather...quick...wrap up.
  • Aw, what an adorable domestic scene, I also love this music. Wait, are they going to go? Oh, my God, I'm so happy now! Haha, yes! Oh, title drop and swelling, triumphal music, I love it!!!!!
I'm not going to say I actually liked the plot of this episode, as I found the Shakri to be a bit vague, but I adored the interactions between the Doctor and the Ponds that I really, really loved this episode! If you haven't seen it, go watch now!

Thanks for reading!

P.S. For the record, Yorkshire pudding (which the Doctor said he invented this episode) is basically just batter, i.e. flour, milk and eggs, which is then cooked and served with roast meat and gravy. No idea why in the world you would refer to something like that as pudding when it's nothing like pudding, but you learn something new everyday.
